Developing Associate at Maynard Leigh

Simone joined Maynard Leigh in 2014 as an Account Manager, progressed into working as our Open Course Manager and is now an Associate in Training here at Maynard Leigh. 

Simone is also the Founder and Co- Director or a social enterprise called Dramatic Momentum, which supports young people and adults from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop vital employability skills and the confidence needed to become 'job ready' by using creative engagement tools from the world of Theatre and the Performing Arts. Dramatic Momentum has an aim to raise employment confidence and employability skills amongst people from London’s disadvantaged communities. 

Previous to working at Maynard Leigh, Simone enjoyed an extensive freelance career as a Project Manager and Facilitator / Workshop Leader in the arts sector. She also spent a year managing, developing and delivering a learning and development programme for NEET (Not in education employment or training) young people called STEP UP at Lewisham Youth Theatre whom Maynard Leigh now actively support.

When she’s not working at Maynard Leigh, or working on supporting young people via Dramatic Momentum, Simone sits on the board of trustees for the award winning Chain Reaction Theatre Company and is also a company director at Purple Moon Drama, where she continues to work as A theater director on their annual productions. 

In her spare time Simone enjoys gardening and tending to her crops at her allotment, spending time with her family and being outdoors. She also finds joy in independently writing, directing and producing new writings plays on the London Fringe scene as well as devising new pieces of work as co-creative director of The Galloping Cuckoos Theatre Company.
